Jane France

Ms. Jane France, community volunteer and philanthropist, serves as the President of the Clarion University Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors as well as President of the Clarion Community Foundation. The retired Vice President of the Capital Markets Department of the Bank of New York Mellon, Ms. France received her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business and her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Clarion University.

Ms. France and her husband Christian Allison were awarded joint honorary Doctor of Public Service degrees in 2012 from Clarion University. Ms. France and Mr. Allison often support activities and philanthropic efforts that complement each other; both serve as board members/ trustees of their respective alma maters. Ms. France is recognized as an excellent philanthropic partner who supports an organization wholeheartedly through financial and volunteer commitments, and also by issuing challenges through matching gifts. She has been a longtime supporter of Clarion University as well as the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. She and Mr. Allison served as co-hosts for the Committee Membership for UPCI’s Gala in 2014. They also were among the first members of the Center’s Circle of Hope. Ms. France also supports the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Senior Communities Benevolent Care Fund, Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, and the Katz Graduate School of Business.

Ms. France and Mr. Allison live with their two dogs—Shannon, a black Lab, and Cara, a yellow Lab—in a house built in 1908 in the borough of Ben Avon, northwest of downtown Pittsburgh. Their work on restoring the house was chronicled in both the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Pittsburgh Tribune Review.
