Postdoc - Lab of Udai Pandey, Department of Pediatrics

A Postdoctoral Researcher position is available immediately in the Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, for a self-motivated scientist to study the molecular mechanisms of human neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and polyglutamine expansion diseases. The candidate will be expected to work with mammalian neuronal culture and drosophila models of ALS and other related human neurodegenerative diseases. Previous experience with mammalian cell culture or drosophila is preferred, but not essential. Applicants should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants expected to graduate soon or who received their PhD degree within the last three years. The postdoctoral fellow would benefit from both the outstanding environment in the lab and the highly collaborative community at the University of Pittsburgh. The candidate will be given an opportunity to present his/her research work at national and international scientific meetings, work on translational and basic research projects, will be encouraged to apply to prestigious postdoctoral fellowships and grants and network with members of academia and industry.
