New Insights into the Maternal-Placental-Fetal Communication Interface
Yoel Sadovsky, MD, Elsie Hilliard Hillman Professor of Women’s and Infants’ Health Research, School of Medicine, and professor of clinical and translational science, will deliver a Provost’s Inaugural Lecture, “New Insights into the Maternal-Placental-Fetal Communication Interface,” at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, in Lecture Room 6, Scaife Hall.
The Provost’s Inaugural Lecture series invites University of Pittsburgh faculty members to give a lecture marking their recent appointments to endowed chairs and distinguished status. Dr. Sadovsky is Distinguished Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences. He is director of Magee-Womens Research Institute and vice chair for research in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences. His research focuses on maternal-fetal medicine, including feto-placental development and trophoblast function. He and colleagues have recently been exploring the trophoblast’s interaction with Zika virus.
